The provider portal allows you to efficiently create and manage prescriptions for patients. It supports features such as allowing refill requests and enabling generic substitutions, ensuring a seamless workflow for prescribing medications.

How to Add a New Prescription

  1. Navigate to the "Patients" section and select the patient you wish to prescribe medication for.

  2. Click "More Actions" and select "Add Medication" from the dropdown menu.

  3. Fill out the Add Prescription form:

    • Select Treatment: Choose the required medication from the dropdown list.

    • Dosage Information: Enter the dosage amount and select the corresponding dosage unit (e.g., mg, ml).

    • Frequency: Specify how often the patient should take the medication (e.g., once daily, twice a week).

    • Route of Administration: Indicate how the medication will be administered (e.g., oral, injection, topical).

    • Quantity per Fill: Enter the amount to be provided with each prescription fill.

    • Dates: Add the start date and optional end date for the prescription duration.

    • Special Instructions (Optional): Include any additional details for the pharmacy or patient.

  4. Optional Settings:

    • Allow Generic Substitutions: Toggle on this option to permit the pharmacy to provide a generic alternative.

    • Refill Requests Allowed: Enable this to let the patient request refills for the medication without requiring a new prescription.

  5. Click "Add Prescription" to save the prescription.

Allowing Refill Requests

  • When enabled during prescription creation, patients can request refills directly through their portal.

  • Refills help maintain continuity of care without requiring additional manual intervention from providers.
