Creating a prescription in the Meto provider portal is a seamless process designed to streamline patient care. Providers can enter key details, set refill options, and share instructions, ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely treatment. This guide walks you through the step-by-step process of adding a new prescription, from selecting medications to assigning them to patients, all in an intuitive and user-friendly interface.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Log in to your Meto Provider Portal

    • Navigate to the Medication section from the main menu.

    • Click the + Prescription button at the top-right corner.

  2. Enter Prescription Details

    • Fill in the fields on the left-hand panel:

      • Select Treatment: Choose the medication or treatment.

      • Dosage Amount: Enter the exact dosage (e.g., 4 mg).

      • Dosage Unit: Specify the unit of measurement (e.g., mg, ml).

      • Frequency: State how often the patient should take the medication (e.g., daily, weekly).

      • Route of Administration: Select how the medication should be administered (e.g., oral, injection).

      • Quantity per Fill: Enter the total amount of medication per refill.

  3. Set Dates and Refills

    • Date Written: This is auto-filled with the current date.

    • Start and End Dates: Specify the duration for the prescription.

    • Enable or disable options:

      • Allow Generic Substitutions: Check this box if pharmacies can provide generic alternatives.

      • Refill Requests Allowed: Toggle this to let patients request refills directly.

  4. Add Patient Information

    • Use the Select Patient dropdown to assign the prescription to a patient.

    • Confirm the selected patient appears under the Pending Prescriptions section.

  5. Optional Features

    • Special Instructions: Add any additional information or guidelines for the patient.

    • Save as Template: Check this box to save the prescription details for future use.

  6. Review and Save

    • Double-check the prescription details in the Pending Prescriptions section.

    • Click Add Prescription to save it or Save & Create Order if you wish to send it for fulfillment immediately.
